Member Biography:
Tamara Mulembo is a Tucson-based criminal defense and family law attorney representing clients throughout Pima County and Southern Arizona. Her practice focuses on serious criminal cases in state and federal court, as well as high-conflict family law matters involving custody, protection orders, and mental health considerations.
With over two decades of courtroom experience—including capital defense—Tamara is known for her strategic advocacy and ability to navigate complex, high-stakes cases. She regularly represents individuals facing felony charges, federal prosecution, and family court disputes across Tucson and the surrounding Southern Arizona communities.
Tamara began her career as a judicial law clerk to the Arizona Court of Appeals before building her trial practice in Tucson with the Pima County Public Defender’s Office. She later expanded her litigation experience in the private sector with State Farm, handling personal injury and premises liability matters.
She returned to criminal defense as an Assistant Federal Public Defender, where she served as a Trial Team Leader handling complex federal cases. Tamara also served as Chief Deputy Pima County Attorney, overseeing multiple divisions and more than 300 employees.
In addition to her practice, Tamara is a nationally recognized trainer who has worked with the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts in Washington, D.C., providing training to attorneys and judges nationwide.
Today, she represents clients across Tucson, Pima County, and Southern Arizona in both criminal defense and family law matters, bringing deep trial experience and a comprehensive understanding of the justice system to every case.
