Level 1 - $500 - The Gault Sponsorship is named for an Arizona case wherein the United States Supreme Court extended the due process guarantees of the 14th Amendment to juvenile defendants, guaranteeing the rights to notice, witness confrontation, and counsel.
Level 2 - $1,000 - The Powell v. Alabama Sponsorship is named for a landmark United States Supreme Court case holding that the right to retain and be represented by a lawyer is fundamental to the right to a fair trial.
Level 3 - $1,500 – The Escobedo Sponsorship is named for a United States Supreme Court case that guaranteed the right of criminal suspects to have counsel present during police interrogations.
Level 4 – $2,000 – The Miranda Sponsorship is named for another Arizona case in which the United States Supreme Court affirmed the right to have counsel during police interrogations, required police to notify suspects of their right to counsel, and ruled that the failure to provide such notice would render the statements inadmissible.
Level 5 - $2,500 and above – The Gideon Sponsorship is named for a landmark decision in which the United States Supreme Court unanimously held that states are required to provide an attorney to criminal defendants who are unable to afford to hire counsel.
